Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
JUNTOS had a crucial session at the Landmark Metropolitan University. We spoke about breast cancer, a topic that, truthfully, many people including myself have historically feared or avoided.
It's a fear that makes us want to shy away from knowing our status. But the reality is, knowledge is power, and early detection saves lives. Knowing your status doesn't change the facts; it only better guides you on how to live and dramatically increases your chances of survival. We need to normalize these conversations and be consistent in preaching the gospel of screening.
Our presentation aimed to replace fear with fact, providing the students, staff, and the entire Landmark University family with essential information:
• Understanding Breast Cancer: A clear, straightforward definition.
• Symptoms & Risk Factors: Key indicators and factors to be aware of.
• Detection: Emphasizing the significance of early screening and proactive monitoring.
• Treatment: An overview of available pathways.
The goal was simple: to provide the necessary health literacy so this generation can approach this topic with confidence, not fear.
Let's keep talking, keep learning, and keep saving lives.
